Welcome

My group primarily studies tropical cyclone, a representative extreme weather phenomenon that causes enormous damage accompanied by wind gusts and torrential rainfall. Our focus on tropical cyclone stems from three distinct yet interconnected areas of study: dynamics, climatology, and economic risk.

Research Pillars

Tropical Cyclone Dynamics

We seek a dynamical understanding of typhoon genesis, intensity changes, precipitation structures, and track.

Climate Variability & Change in Tropical Cyclone Activity

We aim to clarify the relationship between large-scale environmental fields and tropical cyclone activity, and to project future changes in tropical cyclones under future climate scenarios.

Socioeconomic Risk

We quantify the socioeconomic impacts of tropical cyclone-related disasters and support the formulation of climate change adaptation and mitigation policies.
